Northern Dimension

The Northern Dimension (ND) is a joint policy of four equal partners: the European Union (EU), the Russian Federation, Norway, and Iceland. It was initiated in 1999 and renewed in 2006.

The four thematic areas of the Northern Dimension inspired four bespoke symbols, which were combined into one trustworthy, approachable, and modern mark. The logo also symbolizes the equal collaboration between the partners, with a structure that divides the symbol into four parts. It serves as a strong foundation for building a cohesive and distinctive visual identity.

This design was the winning entry among 43 participants in a competition organized by Aalto University and the Northern Dimension.
